Now entering its 18th Season, Lafayette Ballet is pleased to offer you full-length ballets in the beauty of the Long Center for the Performing Arts as well as a unique series each spring in our Ballroom. The value of these performances to a community such as Lafayette is tremendous. Not only can families enjoy the tradition of the Nutcracker for a fraction of the cost of a trip to Chicago, but they can also become involved personally through friends and family who volunteer or are active participants in our ballet family.

Lafayette Ballet has the unique opportunity to style its growing and changing repertory to suit its dancers, not the other way around. With the tradition of Nutcracker firmly in place, we are free to experiment and invent, to reproduce historically or to delve into the creative possibilities of a new era.
Sandra Peticolas, Director
received her ballet training in New York, New Jersey, and Indianapolis from Butler University where she earned a B.A. in Dance. She taught in Pittsburgh, and Northern Virginia prior to moving to the Lafayette area. She founded Lafayette Ballet in 1989, as an outlet for the talent of the dancers she has nurtured and the embodiment of her creativity in choreography and theatrical presentation.
