The soaring beauty of the famous Tchaikovsky score brings inspiration to exciting choreography, colorful costumes, and dramatic backdrops to enchant the audience in this timeless tale. The youthful joy of the Lafayette dancers brings authenticity to the scene of the opening party, wrapped in the nostalgia of a past era. Clara, the protagonist, is given a Nutcracker doll by her Godfather, Herr Drosselmeyer. The ballet unfolds in Clara’s dreams; her voyage to the Kingdom of Sweets accompanied by her Nutcracker, now a handsome prince.
A wonderful cast of young and superbly trained dancers welcomes the challenge of new roles and new opportunities to share their talents each year.
