Our teamwork is our pride. Our technique is our tool. Our artistry is developed with both.

auditions and YAGP
Those of you I have asked to consider YAGP need to get online and read more about the process as well as to go to Youtube and search for videos of previous contestants. We are very isolated in Lafayette, and although you work "hard" in your own way, you are not aware of the incredibly high level of talent and concentration that makes these winners so confident. You cannot wait until I call you for coaching and variation work - you have to be doing this every day on your own, finding strength in your individual steps and avenues for interpretation so that a variation becomes MORE than just steps. I am incuding below a pdf. file of the application. There are things that you need to know from me - variation name, length, choreographer, etc. Each of you needs to fill out the form and run it by me with the blanks, and then, if you wish - use the online registration form, or mail in the written form. This MUST be done by the end of January. Registration closes a month before the competition.

This is Lara's training school. They do not have an audition schedule, but if you are interested, it is a top-notch competitive program in a non-city setting, and would be a fine program for any of you. The application form is all that is needed. The placement in the program happens at the beginning of the session.
More Spring Planning:
As you may have noted from the Nutcracker program, after much deliberation with the difficult schedules of May-June, we have scheduled the spring ballroom performance June 8 and 9. Jennifer is getting married, Lisa is getting married, Lara is moving to Philadelphia and hopefully this will allow our most senior members of the company a little breathing space so that life and performance can both be accommodated. I am sorry if some of you are now unable to participate as I have begun to hear.
There is still MUCH to work on:The school recital as Alice was, will be a showcase of the younger classes, and each of you will be designated to work with a class so that you can be a soloist with them. Peter Pan. The recital is May 5.
I will begin to speak with you about these roles and plan choreography. Good organization does not happen overnight, and I am delighted to have taken the past week to regroup personally. And thank you for your hard work, and your open and mature performance skills. Quite exciting to witness.
